I love the Whale Shark Print Suit and matching Leggings from Blue Adaptation and I’m not exaggerating when I say that wearing them was one of the highlights of my encounter with the real things!
I purchased the Long Sleeve Whale Shark Print Rash Guard Suit and matching Leggings in advance of our recent trip to Isla Mujeres, Mexico to snorkel with whale sharks.
I was immediately Impressed with Blue Adaptation’s quality of product and level of customer service when I initially had to return my Rashie Suit for a larger size. Jamie was incredibly gracious and personable and made the online experience feel like I was walking into a local shop to make an exchange.
Once the fit was right, everything was perfect! I felt confident and I received compliments every time I wore the Suit or Leggings in any combination (I dig the Leggings paired with a Tankini, too!).
On the day, I felt strong and sleek in the water swimming and twinning alongside the majestic whale sharks. I looked a juvenile in the eye on my last swim of the day and seeing him seeing me was a spiritual experience that I will never forget.
In addition to serving looks I know I also did my part to keep the ecosystem free of chemical sunscreens by instead covering my skin with the super-soft, quick drying, vibrantly printed design of Blue Adaptation’s Long Sleeve Rash Guard Whale Shark Suit and matching Leggings.
And lastly, an added benefit for me is that because I have a skin condition called polymorphic light eruption (PLE) which only affects me when exposed to large concentrated doses of the Caribbean sun (one of my very favorite things in the world!), the sexy and versatile protection offered by the Long Sleeve Rashie and Leggings is now a Swimwear staple for me on vacation whether I’m sipping cocktails poolside or making eye contact with whale sharks off the coast of Mexico!

Inspired by the largest fish in the ocean, our design highlights the whale shark’s characteristic pattern of spots + stripes. It is thought that the unique white checkerboard pigmentation could be an adaptation for feeding near the water’s surface (aka natural sunscreen).
Inspired by the breathtaking beauty of an underwater coral reef, our design highlights the vibrant color + intricate latticework that make up a gorgonian sea fan. Although this branch structure may look like a plant, it’s actually an animal.
The vaquita is the world’s most endangered marine mammal, on the brink of extinction within our lifetime. These porpoises are found only in Mexico’s Sea of Cortez + at last estimate, only 9 of these magnificent animals remain.
Inspired by the striking, ornate beauty of the spotted eagle ray, our design highlights the intricate spots, rings, and concentrated markings that make each individual ray so unique. Similar to human fingerprints, each ray has its own unmatched skin pattern, no two are alike.
